We wake leisurely planning to have breakfast at the Looking Glass Restaurant at the Bluenose Inn in Bar Harbor, ME but no one was being seated and all the tables full, the waitresses acting somewhat frenzied.
We skipped it and went to the Mount Desert Island Oceanarium instead. The lectures and walk and demonstrations were very informative and directed more to young people. Afterwards, we again tried downtown to find food, checking out the places where we were told there were often parking places; alas, no go.
Instead, we went on to the Chart Room restaurant in Bar Harbor, ME and had a lovely meal, fish and chip for me, lobster for bob, awesome blueberry pie. After lunch, we took a leisurely drive on the southern part of Mount Desert Island, taking a short walk at Eagle Lake, found the way into Seal Cove, checked out Bass Harbor, found the lighthouse, had a grand time at the natural seawall, and checked out Southwestern Harbor with Northwest Harbor right across the bay.
